Jun. 25, 1968 - Tootsy Pays a Social Call On Pie'; Tootsy the family cat can often be seen entering the cage of Pip, the family budgerigar, not in search of prey, but just to pay a friendly call on another member of the household. The cat on another member of the household, the cat sometimes sleeps in the cage, occupying all its floor space, with the bird sitting on her back. The Budgie shows no fear of the cat, indeed, sometimes taking liberties with her, riding round perched on the cat's head. They are the pets of 11 year old Jane Rendell, of Tiverton, Devon. There was a bit of suspicion on both sides when they first met says Jane, but they settled down very quickly'.
