This hind had outwitted hounds which had chased it across miles of wooded cliffland and fields by climbing over rocks and wading out into the joy waters of the Devon and Somerset Stag Hounds. And on Wednesday officials from the scene sent a full report to M.P.'s in London who are pressing for the aboliton of deer hunting. One of the witnesses, Mr. Ray Rowley, the League's chairman said: This was hunting for hunting's sake. The hunt met at Country Gate, on the Somerset Deven border outside Lynmouth on Tuesday. The hind was killed near Barkers Beach, Glenthorne, Somerset. Mr. Bob Nancekivell, 70-years-old joint master of the Devon and Somerset Stag Hounds, Said: The hind was shot on the beach cleanly with one cartridge from a humane pistol. He said a farmer had asked the hunt to Kill the hind which had been eating crops
