Mar. 03, 1967 - Alice the 145-lbs, Walrus makes her first appearance at the London Zoo: This lady weighs 145 lbs. and her name is Alice. She was flown in from Amsterdam on Dec. 29th, 1966. and today this 3 1/2 month-old Welrus made her first appearance at the London Zoo. Alice lives on a special diet of herrings, milk and vitamins to keep her waistline in trim, while nothing has been spared to make her feel at home in the Pavillion until her new home is ready for her. Photo shows Alice with her soulful eyes and whiskers makes her debut at the London Zoo today
