Feb. 02, 1971 - Triplet the Bear Cub Makes Debut: the polar bear cub born tom Sam and Sally at London Zoo oin 28th November, made its debut today. It took its first walk out on the Mappin Terrace with its mother. The new cub has been called Triplet, in honour of the American astronauts and their walk on the moon (where there are craters called Doublet and Triplet'). Triplet is also the third polar Bear to be successfully reared at London Zoo, The first was the famous Brumas maturity in the British Isles, The second Polar Bear to be reared art London Zoo is Triplet's brother Pipaluk, who was born to Sam and Sally on Dec. s1st. 1967.
