1971 - Cheetahs at Whipsnade break their own world record.: Jack and Juanita, a pair of cheetahs at Whipsnade zoo, have succeeded in breaking their own world record by producing their fourth litter of cubs to be born in captivity. This year's litter, born on 9th March, consists of three females, that have been named Juba, Jonquill, and Jalna. The first litter Juanita produced was in 1967, she had three cubs, but only Jason one of the males survived. The second litter was in 1968, when she had another three cubs, Grace, Janica and Frank. Frank has since been loaned to Jersey zoo and Grace to London zoo, while Janica remains at Whipsnade. The third litter in 1970 produced two cubs, Lo-jo and Jiffie. Jo-jo has also been sent to London.
