Feb. 02, 1973 - Penguins waiting for a baby The penguin parents to be can hardly wait to see their offspring. Up to now, though, there is no movement in the egg, lying at the feet of this sir in tails. He is incubating it in a special pocket of his abdomen. The mother to be has nothing to do in the 63 days of waiting for the little one. She is roaming around in the Antarctic waters and just now and then comes to see what's going on on land. For pinguins, childbirth is a man's affair! Only after the little one has hatched, will she take care of it and help with the feeding. Keystone West Germany 22-2-1973
