Feb. 02, 1974 - An Awesome hobby; Mr. Erwin Cordes, 37 from Dusseldorf is Germany's first locust breeder (pictured here some of his pets). He started out with his strange hobby about six year ago when receiving as a present three couples of locust from the director of Krefelds zoo. In the meantime breeding resulted in a stunning number of 40, 000 locusts which Mr. Cordes keep in his private home, spending five hours a day on his hobby. But now he is making some money by selling the locusts for 10 Pfening a piece of various zoos in Germany where they are fed to the reptiles
