1974 - Archie the Bactrian (Two-Humped) Camel Makes His Debut At The London Zoo: Archie, the Bactrian (two-humped) camel, born at the London Zoo on March 29th, was out for the first time with his mother Alice this morning. Archie weighed 130 lbs at birth. His parents, Alice and Omo are both veterans of the riding square at the zoo and have carried thousands of children during last 13 years. Photo Shows Under the watchful eye of his, Alice, baby Archie gets a little frivolous as he appeared before the public the public for the first time at the London Zoo today
