Oct. 10, 1974 - New safari park in Ardeche, mountainous region in southern France, allows visitors in cars to roam around with complete freedom and safety in 7, 000 acres of parkland. Park caters to all manner of exotic animals as well as the more run-of-the-mill camel and baboon. Coin-operated machines dispense food in a picnic area where visitors can share lunch with the more rare, tamer animals of the park. OPS: Baboons exhibiting their usual lack of restraint - welcoming a visitor to the park
