Jul. 07, 1976 - New Baby Gorilla Born At London Zoo: Lomie, the 11-year old gorilla, early yesterday morning gave birth to the first baby gorilla to be born at London Zoo. The father is Bristol Zoo's gorilla, Samson. The baby, which is female, weighed 51b at birth. Photo shows Lomie, cradles her baby daughter in her arms, when 1+ made its debut at London Zoo yesterday
