Dec. 12, 1973 - New blood in Sumatra tiger families in Frankfurt zoo, twice twin cubs born : Professor Bernhard Grazimek (Right), director of Frankfurt's zoo, shows proudly the result of his successful breeding of Sumatra tinges presenting the four cubs in a press conferences to the public. currently there live about 96 tigers of this subspecies in zoos distributed throughout the world. Compared to the small number which live still in their native environment on Sumatra it is most likely that our grandchildren may have a chance to watch there animals only in zoos in the future. photo shows Prof. Bernhard Grizimek (right) showing two of the four cubs of Sumatra tigers, while being assisted by member of German national football team, Mr. Jurgen Grabowski
