May 16, 1977 - 18 Stone Baby Elephant Born at The Chester Zoo: An 18-stone baby with a webble in his walk meet the public floor the first time last week. He's the first elephant to be born alive in this country. His mother Judy caught keepers out by producing his after 20+- months of Pregnancy. Elephants tend to be unpredictable, they average between 18-22 months. The babies father was missing from the scene as Nebby a 12 year old Bull turned vicious breaking out of his compound and was shet 19 months age.
