May 05, 1979 - Wilma shows off her Triplets at Whipsnade: Wilma, an adult female Kodiak bear, today showed off her new family of triplets for the first time at Whipsnade zoo. The cubs were born on January 20th. 1979, and have been named Barnaby, Betsy and Babs - 1 male and 2 female respectively. At birth they weighed only 1 1/2 ibs and measured nine inches in length. Now they have grown to 20 and 20 inches. Barnaby may even grow to be big as his father, Wilbur. Keystone photo shows Wilma keeps an eye on her three cubs at Whipande zoo
