Sep. 09, 1977 - Victor The Giraffe Falls In Love: Victor, the amorous Giraffe from Marzwell Zoological Park near Winchester, has literally fallen in love, two nights ago whilst paying loving attention to three girl giraffes, overstepped the mark slightly and collapsed into a splits, Victor, a prised stud who has fathered several calves, spent four hours in this position until firemen were called in to give him a lift all attempts have failed, Zoo assistant director David Aston said; It may be psychological. He has just lost the will to stand up'. Photo shows Marwell Zoo workers try to pull Victor over and onto his haunches so that his weight is not on his stomach
