Sep. 16, 1977 - Victor the Giraffe dies for love: Victor, the amorous Giraffe from Marwell Zoological par near Winchester, , has literally fallen in love, two nights ago whilst paying loving attentions to three girl giraffes, overstepped the mark slightly and collapsed into a splits. Victor, a prised stud who has fathered several calves, spent four hours in this position until firemen were called in to give him a lift all attempts have failed, Zoo assistant director David Aston said: It may be psychological. He has just lost the will to stand up!. Photo shows Victor is given glucose injections and antibiotics to give him less stress which could led to a heart attack
