Sep. 16, 1977 - September 16th 1977 Victor the giraffe falls in love Victor, the amorous giraffe from Marwell Zoological Park near Winchester, has literally fallen in love, two nights ago whilst paying loving attention to three girl giraffes, overstepped the mark slightly and collapsed into a splits. Victor, a prized stud who has fathered several calves, spent four hours in this position until firemen were called in to give him a lift all attempts have failed, Zoo assistant director Davis Aston said: It may be psychological. He has just lost the will to stand up! Photo Shows: Female giraffes are brought into the enclosure to try and encourage Victor to raise himself
