Oct. 07, 1980 - Late Journey for United Dairies Horse-Drawn Float: This purley type float built about 1035 and worked several areas of London before ending its working life about 1957 at the Fulham Deport of the United Dairies, although it continued to be used as a show vehicle until the mid 1960s. We purchased at an auction by the Science Museum in 1979 and has been restored by the Electric Vehicle maintenance department of the UD at Harlenden. Today it made its last journey as it was handed back to the Science Museum to go on display. Photo shows Milkman Tom Fuller on his way to the Science Museum South Kensington with the horse-drawn milk float
