Aug. 08, 1979 - Saul the baby Gorilla has check up: Saul, the baby Gorilla at the London Zoo, today had a routine check up in the Zoo hospital, Now a bouncing 16 ponder. At one time after his mother Lomie had lost interest in him he began to lose weight, so Keeper Ron Smith and his wife, Barbara, came to the rescue and tool the gorilla into their home and head reared him. Saul was born on October 14th 1979. Photo shows Saul being weighed by Zoo vet John Knight in the hospital at the London Zoo today
