Sep. 09, 1979 - First-born civet in Japan: A cute palm civet made its debut at Hirakawa Zoo, Kagshima, Southmost Japan, after going through 12-days artificial feeding. The tiny creatured (no named yet) is the first Malay palm civet in the country nad has been given five fedding from the bottle since it came into the wrold. Weighing g now, the little wrethc has grown well over twice as much as than birth. Malay palm civets, so called because their favorite is supposedly palm juice, live in a vast raneg of South-East Asia, often staying on big palm trees or on mangos. From their nocturnal habits, they lie curled up on the branches or in tree hollows during the daytime, while at night scavenge for birds, small mammals, snakes, lizards, and insects
