May 18, 1981 - Seven Koalas from Australia got their premiere peek at the American public today when the cuddly gray marsupials made their first appearance in their San Diego Zoo exhibits. The new arrivals - six females and one male - should help improve chances of breeding success at the Zoo, which prior to today, kept four male and only one female Koala. The San Diego Zoo is the only zoo in the world outside of Australia to house to exhibit koalas
