Aug. 08, 1959 - Just like in Africa: In Florida (USA) giraffes run about freely. They even let themselves be fed by the tourists. The animals belong to a national trust property, 750000 square metres large, near Boca Raton (Boca Raton). The giraffe at the left is named Champ (Champ) and is said to be one of the largest in the world. Champ is 6, 40m tall and has a value of about 90 000 DM (about 7 500 Pounds). Usually a giraffe costs about 20 000 DM
