Oct. 10, 1959 - Rainbow - the Radio controlled puppet visits selfridges Christmas toy fair: Rainbow - the radio controlled puppet, made by Miss Honoria Plesch, the stage designer and producer - today made a personal appearance to the Toy Department of slfridges, where he walked about entirely under radio control. This was the first public appearance in the united Kingdom of Rainbow, whose movements are controlled by radio at distances up to 1 1/2 miles.
