: Anthony Wedgwood Benn, Postmaster General

Anthony Wedgwood Benn, Postmaster General

May 05, 1965 - Britain's New Luxury Trimphone telephones to be tested in London.: Britain's first Trimphones the latest de luxe telephones will shortly be available as optional extras in strictly limited quantity in parts of the London North-West telephone area. The main styling of the new phone is that the handset rests along the length of the base instead of across it. The clear plastic handset rest and gravity switch is in the form of a luggage-type handgrip which can be used for carrying the phone about. The illuminated dial plate will give enough light to enable the dial figures and letters to be read in the dark. Photo shows Anthony (Tony) Wedgwood Benn, the Postmaster General, tries out the new luxury Trimphone at Hampstead Town Hall today
