1970 - Anti-American Demonstrations in Amman: Anti-American demonstrations in Amman, caused the American assistant Secretary of State, Joseph Sisco, to cancel a visit to Jordan he was due to make on Friday (April 17). On Thursday April 16, demonstrators set fire to the American cultural centre and the American Embassy was attacked.
