May 03, 1967 - Anti-Common Market Demonstration: Anti-Common Market demonstrators yesterday wheeled a black-draped coffin bearing the words Death to British Democracy towards Downing Street, London, at the news of the Cabinet's decision to apply for membership of the Common Market - but police would not let the coffin enter Downing Street. Two f the chief demonstrators later delivered a letter of protest at No. 10. Photo shows the demonstrators with the coffin yesterday, showing Downing Street in the background. In the picture are two of the leading demonstrators, Major Oliver Smedley (2nd from R), and Mr. Christopher Free-Smith (2nd from L)
