May 03, 1967 - Anti-Common Market Demonstration: Anti-Common Market demonstrators yesterday wheeled a black-draped coffin bearing the words Death to British Democracy towards Downing Street, London, at the news of the Cabinet's decision to apply for membership of the Common Market - but police would not let the coffin enter Downing Street. Two f the chief demonstrators later delivered a letter of protest at No. 10. Photo shows the demonstrators with the coffin yesterday, showing Downing Street in the background.
