Dec. 12, 1960 - Anti-Government Demonstrations In Athens - Injured Policemen Helped Away: There were serious anti-Government demonstrations in the street of Athens recently - where 3, 000 workers congregated and attacked the police who tried to disperse them. The crowd grew to 10, 000 strong and battled with police reinforcements with armoured cars, tear gas etc. before order was restored. Two policemen were seriously injured - more than a hundred rioters were hurt - and a number of private cars were overturned and burned before order was restored.
