Apr. 18 Riots during a demonstration against the erection of a nuclear power plant in Niedersachsen, Federal Republic of Germany: Some days ago hard riots happened near Grohnde in the North of Germany. There thousands of citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany met for a great demonstration against the erection of a nuclear power plant that is being planned. After the ending of the demonstration about 5000 extremists tried to storm the building site, whereupon it came to a three-hours fight between demonstrators and more than 4, 000 policemen who were to safeguard the site. The result of the riot: 237 policemen and 80 demonstrators injured, and 26 persons arrested. Photo shows One of the demonstrators is carried away by the policemen
