Anti-Vietnam War demonstration in Stockholm, Sweden
Feb. 02, 1968 - Great Vietnam demonstration in Stockholm. Wednesday 21 February, one of the greatest demonstrations that has ever been arranged in Sweden took place in Stockholm. 5, 300 people took part with the motto: SUPPORT FNL'. After a torchlight procession across the city a meeting was held at Sergels Torg. Professor Gunnar Myrdal, President of the Swedish Vietnam Committee, gave the welcome address. As it was a cold night most of the people dropped out after a while, but about 1000 people were still there when Vietnam ambassador to Moscow, Nguyen Tho Chanh spoke, were very enthusiastic about the speech of Cabinet Minister Olof Palme, one of the demonstration leaders said We think that Olof Palme is a hypocrite.
