Anti-Vietnam War protest, SPD convention, Nuremberg
Mar. 18, 1968 - At the opening of the SPD party convention on March 17, 1968 at the Meistersingerhalle in Nuremberg, there were big demonstrations by young people. Some carried banners and Vietcong signs in front of the hall and party chairman Willy Brandt and Herbert Wehner were heckled repeatedly. Only with police protection could the convention continue in peace. Several of the youths were taken to jail. There was also a sit in'.
