Feb. 16, 1953 - New Zealand Artist And His Angels Designed For Coventry Cathedral Windows: Mr. John Hutton the artist-former New Zealand lawyer-is at work at his St. John's Wood (London) studios on the Angels'-which are the grace the greet west Glass Screen which is to rise 70 feet in the Coventry Cathedral. There will be fifty of the angels in all-all glass engraved-and are to expected to cause quite a conttroversy-for the angels will be essentially feminine with a cloud of crinkly hair, enormous wide eyes and round rosebud mouth-and she wears disphanous robes. Until now Mr. Hutton has made 60 drawings (all sorappad) of the angels since the day he made his original drawing from model Marigold Dodson, of Kensington. Photo shows.
