Antiques - Art - Ceramics - Murals - Paint

Sep. 09, 1953 - Ice cream man offers Epsteins for sale.: Jacob Epstein, the famous sculpto, said last night: Is am disgusted with the commercialisation of my art'. He had just been told that his three-ton alabaster statue of Adam and two more of his masterpiece were advertised for sale. Adam, the 7ft. symbolic interpretation of Man, which infuriated some people and enraptured others, then drew in the thousands as a sideshow, is in store. With him are Jacob and the Angel, and the advertisement. And up in Blackpool where Adam was once a sideshow hit - Epstein's dusky bronze figure of Eve lies under dust covers in the office of an amusement and catering fim. She is for sale too. Photo shows Jacob and the Angel (left), and Adam (right) lying in store in Blackpool
