Feb. 02, 1954 - Interpol Gets Ready For International Exhibition of Forgeries - In Paris: Hundreds of items are being collected at the officers of Interpol (The International European Police) at the Ministry of the INterior in the Boulevard Gouvain ST. Cyr, Paris. Officers of the organization are gathering together many forged masterpieces, statues, stamps - money and even dresses copied from the exclusive models of Dior, Fath, Desses, Schiaparelli etc in readiness for the forthcoming exhibition which illustrates how cleverly some of ;the forgeries are executed and to show how difficultit is to detect them from the originals. SDome of the fake exhibits - paintinf etc. bear forged singnatures of the Masters such as Gaugin; Utrillo; Renoir; Picasso etc. Postage stamps are the hardest tro detect because of their reduced designs - and dollar bills are getting better and better as forgers use improved methods. The bRitish One pound note is very rarley forged on the continent first because it is very complicatede - and it is difficult to dispose of. Photo Shows: A fake statue bearing the name of Rodin - is to be on exhibit
