Oct. 10, 1954 - No sculptors win the Tuc's big money: Sculptor's entries for a competition run by the T.U.C. were not good enough for the top prizes two of £1, 000 one of £500 and of £250, it was announced yesterday. Artists were asked to submit ideas for two places at the new TUC headquarters doing up in Bloomsbury. One worl was to represent the sacrifices of trade unionists in two wars; the other to symbolize the trade union movement. Six competitors commanded were awarded £50 each.
