Sep. 09, 1956 - Sixteen year old artist amazes the critics. Wins £250 Art Training Award.: Sixteen year old Ralph Wardle who came from Skellow, near Doncaster - won the £250 Art Training Award - at the Chidlren's Art Exhibition which is being held at the Royal Institute Galleries, Piccadilly. Ralph has already won a scholarship to the Doncaster School of art and Leeds University. One of his drawings - which amazed the critics was entitled My sister and her baby - and shows a baby girl at the breast of her young mother. Photo shows Ralph Wardle - with some of his exhibits - which helped him with the £250 prize
