Nov. 09, 1956 - Mosaics at Sicily's Valley of the Temples : Important new mosaics were recently uncovered during excavation work in the Archaeological zone of Agrigento, Sicily, in the so-called Valley of the Temples They appear to be remains of a Roman city which was destroyed by fire, or some other catastrophe of nature. Exation work is being financed by the Sicilian authorities, and is being carried out by the Superintendent of Antiuities.
