1958 - International exhibition bell as umbrella: Soon the international exhibition 19158 willtake place. The atomium will be the symbol of Brussels and the exhibition, like the Eiffel tower for Paris. But besides on international exhibitions other things were to be seen, worth of administration. For instance the bell on our picture, picturesquely spoken, once was ringing in the time of steel. It had been the first church bell of the world, produced wholly out of steel, for the first international exhibition in Paris in 1867. It had been such a sensation, that the second bell, produced soon afterwards, had to be broken into two pieces, in order to prove, that only steel had been used. Today, after 100 years, the bell, little noticed, is hanging in the Essener street in Bochum. Only the pupils of apprentice school of the Bochum Company ( metal work), where i 1867 the bell had been produced and designed, are showing very well this first-international emblem could be used as
