May 05, 1958 - Painting once sold for17 fetches 36, 000 guineas. believed to be an original El Greco': A sensation was ordated this morning at Christies when Lot 14 was sold for 36, 000 guineas. The painting is described as Christ healing the blind by P. Veromese and it was sold at Christies in 1888 for 17 Guineas. Experts are convinced that the painting is an early 17 guineas. Photo Shows Mr. Joffrey Agnew gives a last look at the El Greco after purchasing it for 36, 000 guineas at the Auction Rooms this morning
