May 05, 1958 - Painting once sold for £ 17. Fetches 36, 000 Guiteas. Believed to be an original El Greco'. A sensation was created this morning at Christies when Lot 14 was sold for 36, 000 guineas. The painting is described as Christ Healing the Blind by P Veronese - and it was ed at Christies in 1888 for 17 Guineas. Experts are convinced that the paintings is an early El Greco.
