May 05, 1958 - Painting Once Sold For 17. Fetches 36, 000 Guineas. Believed To Be Original El Greco'. A Sensation was created this morning at Christies when Lot 14 was sold for 36, 000 guineas. The painting is described as Christ Healing the Blind by P. Veronese - and it was sold at Christies in 1888 for 17 Guineas. Experts are convinced that the painting is an early El Greco.
