Nov. 11, 1958 - Elephant hunters from Odenwald?: No- they are ordinary craftsmen who try to cope with the heavy tusks of elephants. It is not unusual to see these tusks in the streets of Erbach. Many of the local craftsmen shops use ivory for precious carvings. For 150 years the town of Erbach has been living on the manufacturing of Ivory. Count Franz of Erbach who is a master in the carving of ivory once established this business. The school for carving of ivory which is als situated in Erbach is known as the authoritative school for this business
