Feb. 02, 1959 - Portrait of Henry VIII sold for 160 Guineas. A portrait of Henry VIII as a young man wearing a black cap and jewellery, which is attributed to Jean Perreal - was sold at Sotheby's today for 160 guineas. It may be the missing portrait from the series of Royal Portraits extending from Edward IV to Arthur, Prince of Wales, now at Windsor Castle, and was among a number of works sent for sale by Mr. M. Clifford Smith. It was bought by Mr. Betts, a dealer The scene at Sotheby's during the sale of the Henry VIII portrait today
