May 05, 1956 - Australian Art Expert Discovers Master Piece. Genuine Murillo - valued at many thousands.: While working on restoring a painting - which had for year hung -dirty and soot covered - alongside a fireplace - Australian Art expert Kurt Norden discovered that it was a genuine Murillo - and as such - valued at several thousands of pounds. The painting was purchased at a sale by financier Mr. Spencer Watts. Mr. Lorden discovered a tiny red seal on the back of the canvas - which proved that it was a genuine Murillo - painted the 1670's The painting is called :Gypsy Madonna and Child'.
