The sum of £125, 000 has been paid by the Nation for the painting St. George and the Dragon - at the National Gallery. Professor Bernhard Berenson (93) the most revered living connoisseurs on Italian Art has stated that the painting is Not by Paolo Uccello - who is one of the most famous of the early Forentine artists. but Mr. John Pope-Hennessy of the Victorian and Albert Museum and officials of the National Gallery claim that it is by Uccello.
