Cherubic statue is back-without its fig leaf: The little Cherubic figure which first appeared without a fig leaf in 1800, then had one added 40 years ago-is not back in its original state. The statue, a reminder that the Great Fire of London died out on a sport in giltspur Street, Holborn, in 1666, had a gid-leaf added to it forty years ago by the director of the NewZealand Refrigerating Company, who occupy the buildingin Glitspur on which the statue stands. He decided to cover the statue up in the interests of morality. But the present managing director of the firm thought there was no good reason for the fig leaf being there now-so the firm have taken away the fig-leaf.
