Long John Silver May Lose His Figureheads.. City businessman, Sidney Cumbers, otherwise known as Captain Long John Silver, is offering his £10, 000 collection of 99 ships figureheads and other curios to Gravesand, if they can find suitable display place for them. He has to move them from The Lookout the inside of which resembles a ship because Lookout is part of a Hotel which wants use it now for enlarging its kitchens. A Judge now ordered possession to be granted, but has said that the town should do all it can to accept his gracious offer. The collection was started when Mr. Cumbers was 10, after he lost an eye in an accident
