Oskar Kokoschka dead On February 22nd, 1980, famous painter Oskar Kokoschka died in Villeneuve at Lake Geneva, Switzerland. He has been 93 years old. Kokoschka was born in Austria, has been a student in Vienna and became an academy professor in Dresden in 1920. Since 1925, he produced his paintings when travelling through Europe and the North of Africa for a lot of years. In 1934, he came to Prague/Czechoslovakia and between 1938 1952, he was living in London/Great Britain and belongs to the leading painters of the expressionism group. Since 1953, Oskar Kokoschka was residing in Switzerland. OPS: Oskar Kokoschka working on a painting Harbour of Hamburg
