Sep. 09, 1959 - Unique Easel helps crippled artists.: Albert Baker a patient at Le Court, Liss, Hampshire, a Cheshire Foundation Home has struggled for some years to become a successful artist. Unable to use his hands he has trained himself to hold a paint brush with his teeth - but until recently his problems were to great - for he could neither stand or sit more than a few minutes at a time without suffering intense pain - and he could not reach all parts of the canvas without having someone to move it. Now a Dexion frame has been designed what combines a special prop to take Albert's weight - with an easel that makes painting at one level a practical possibility. A simple pulley arrangement allows Albert to move the canvas up or down by pulling with his teeth on a piece of string.
