Dec. 12, 1959 - Rembrandt's Lost Juno for sale at Christies: One of the greatest Rembrandt masterpieces a painting of fund which was lost for more than 250 years in to be sold by auction at Christies on April 1st. With 54 other paintings it is from the collection by the late Dr. C.J. van Aalst. Juno was painted about 1665 and was the subject of a lawsuit between the artistand an Amstermdam collector Harmen Becker into whose possession it passed. When he died the painting appears to have disappeared and not rediscovered until 1936 when it was sent on a tour of America. The experts believe that this painting will fetch a six-figure price.
