Mar. 27 British claim to Original Velasquez: Experts have come to the conclusion that the National Trust's portrait of Don Balthasar Carlos, son of Philip IV of Spain, is an original Velasquez. It is suggested that the version of the portrait in the Prado, Madrid, is a copy by Goya. The trust portrait has hung for 130 years at Duckworth, the Suffolk seat of Lord Bristol, and went on show today at the Courtauld Institute Galleries in London. Photo shows three early visitors to the gallery this morning view the portrait. Left to right: Pat Flexer, 14, Helen Farrington, 14; and Gloria Harwood, 13, all from Cheshunt
