Mar. 27 Gulliver for Expo 70; Gerarld Scarpe, the famous cartoonist, artist in papier mache, glass, etc - is putting the finishing touches to a 21ft tall Gulliver - made from 6 cwt of scrap metal, in his back garden in Chayne Walk, Chelsea and it will take a crane to shift him - even though he is split into four sections for moving. Scarfs is producing a group of about a dozen figures for Britain's exhibition at Expo 70 which opens in Osaka, Japan, in March. Gulliver is thew center piece. Its certainly the biggest thing I've done and the first time I've welded metal, says Scarfe.
